One necessary cookie, and Google Analytics only if you accept it. Every cookie, what it does and how long it lasts.

What a cookie is, and how we ask
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. Irish law (Regulation 5 of the ePrivacy Regulations 2011) lets a site set cookies that are strictly necessary to provide the service you asked for, and requires your prior consent for everything else. On aitina.ie the only cookies that are not strictly necessary belong to Google Analytics, so on your first visit a banner asks whether you accept them. Accept and Reject are equal buttons; nothing is set until you choose; the page works either way. Your choice is kept for six months and can be changed at any time from Cookie settings in the footer, which also clears any analytics cookies already set if you switch to Reject.
Cookies we set
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Lasts | Needs consent |
|---|---|---|---|---|
atx_consent | aitina.ie | Records whether you accepted or rejected analytics, so the banner is not shown on every page. | 6 months | No — strictly necessary |
_ga | Google Analytics | Distinguishes one visitor from another with a random identifier. | 2 years | Yes |
_ga_* | Google Analytics | Keeps the current browsing session together for our analytics property. | 2 years | Yes |
If you accept, we also enable Google Consent Mode, which tells Google's tag that you have agreed to analytics storage only; advertising storage and personalisation stay off, as we do not run advertising on this site.
Cookies set by others when you use a feature
Video episodes are embedded from YouTube using youtube-nocookie.com and load
only when you press play. When you do, YouTube may set its own cookies (for example
VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE, YSC) under Google's cookie policy; we do not control
them. Nothing is requested from YouTube before you press play.
What we do not use
No advertising or retargeting pixels, no social-media tracking scripts, no session replay, no third-party fonts and no chat widgets. Social links in the footer are plain links.
Managing cookies in your browser
Every browser lets you view and delete cookies and block them for a site. Blocking all cookies for aitina.ie is safe: the site does not depend on any.
Changing your mind
Open Cookie settings in the footer of any page. Choosing Reject after having accepted deletes the Google Analytics cookies from your browser straight away. Our privacy policy explains how the analytics data is used.
