What it costs to serve a customer today and what that curve looks like at ten times the volume. Gross margin often lives or dies here.
AI claims, tested
A specific area now, and the one most often overstated. What is a genuine model or data advantage, what is a thin wrapper over a public API, and what is a demo. We say which, plainly.
Delivered as a written report with a severity-ranked findings register, a remediation estimate, and a call to walk the investment committee or the board through it. Turnaround is typically two to three weeks; shorter scopes can run faster.
Questions we get asked
Can you act for the founder rather than the investor?▼
Yes, and it is often the better spend. Running the review on yourself first means you meet the findings privately, with time to fix or frame them, instead of in a data room in front of the people deciding your valuation.
How long does it take?▼
Two to three weeks for a typical growth-stage company, assuming reasonable access to the code, the cloud account and two or three engineers for interviews. A focused scope — AI claims only, or cloud economics only — can run in about a week.
Do you need access to the source code?▼
Read-only access to the repositories and the cloud account gives by far the most reliable answer. Where that is not possible before signing, we can run a structured interview and artefact review instead and we will be explicit in the report about the reduced confidence.
What if the answer is 'do not do this deal'?▼
Then the report says so, with the reasoning laid out so you can weigh it yourself. We have no position in the transaction and no downstream remediation work to protect, which is precisely why an independent reviewer is worth paying for.
